“Interesting Work of an Aggie”—Lecture by Dr. Charles Ling
Taiwan Culture Center of Greater Washington DC is very honored to present the first seminar of our Scholar Lecture Series of 2010 “Interesting Work of an Aggie” by Dr. Charles Ling. Dr. Ling, who recently received United States Department of Agriculture Economists Group's Economist of the Year award, provides “the only source of comprehensive information on the marketing operations of the nation's dairy cooperatives, information which has proven useful in policy and research analysis. Especially noteworthy is Ling's work to calculate the cost of manufacturing cheese, butter and milk powder in cooperatively owned plants.”
“A database Ling created on dairy cooperatives that is updated every five years is frequently cited by the dairy industry. Ling has authored more than 22 research reports and 30 other research-related reports and conducted at least 64 technical assistance projects for farmer cooperatives during his more than 30-year tenure with USDA.”
This is a free seminar, which will take place on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm at Taiwan Culture Center (7509 Needwood Rd. Derwood, MD 20855). Due to limited parking spaces, reservation will be required for attending this event. Please call (301)330-2877 to reserve your seat(s). |
